Life and Death

How do you choose life?

See, I have set before you this day
 life and good,
and death and evil...

I have set before you
 life and death,
the blessings and the curses;
 therefore choose life,

that you and your descendants may live.  20And may love the Lord your God, obey His voice, and cling to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. (Deut. 30: 15, 19-20)

Jesus came into the world to abolish the curse and destroy sin's hold over our lives.  Jesus removed death and curses out of existence, totally destroying them both in hell when He became sin and the curse, then paying it's penalty to the uttermost requirement of God. That action set us free! Free to live the lives God created us to live.

That day Satan lost everything! He lost his right to point the accusing finger of accusation, and he lost the right to demand death for sinners. Jesus took from him his rights, stripped him naked for all eyes to see.

"It is finish", Jesus declared from the cross. And it is!

So why do we still need to choose life? Because Satan is still a deceiver, he is the father of all lies...and people tend to walk by sight rather than by faith. that is lie number one; the doorway of deception.

His lying has caused people to live as though Jesus' death has made no difference at all in this world.

 The choice today, is to believe Jesus bought your life with His blood, and gave you His righteousness in return. This choice brings you into the presence of God where death flees. There is no more death to be feared, and there is no longer the affects of the curse to destroy your life. Jesus nailed them all to the cross for you and for me and brought them down to hell where they belonged. Because there is no longer a penalty to be required they cannot leave the confines of hell. Hell's appetite has been satisfied. It is finished. The curse has been removed and death has lost it's sting.

Only love remains.

Saints of God, this is the 'Good News', this is the gospel that must be preached  to a world who still believes Satan is armed and dangerous. Open their eyes to Jesus and His love. When our focus is on the love of God, love is what we reap, unconditional love from Father God, with no accusing finger pointed toward us, just arms stretched out wide to embrace us.

 Embrace God back by believing HIM.
